Art That Speaks Emotion
Landscapes, Florals, and Soft Pastels
Hi, I’m Natalia — a soft pastel artist based in Munich. I’m passionate about capturing the emotional essence of the world around me, whether it’s a vast landscape, a delicate flower, a quiet street corner, or a still life arrangement. My goal is not to depict reality, but to express what a place or moment feels like — both to me, and eventually, to you. If one of my paintings speaks to your soul, makes you pause, or stirs a memory — that’s the highest reward I can imagine.
How I Paint
I work primarily with soft pastels, a medium I love for its vibrancy, immediacy, and subtlety. It allows me to blend painting and drawing techniques, play with light and contrast, and shift easily between bold expression and quiet nuance. While pastels are my artistic home, I also enjoy experimenting with oil and acrylic—especially for larger formats and new directions.
Inspiration rarely comes from seeking. It usually starts with a feeling: the warmth of late sunlight on a wall, the silence of early morning in the mountains, or the poetic stillness of everyday objects. My creative process begins when something stirs me emotionally—and that emotion becomes the heart of the artwork.
My Artistic Journey
I began painting in 2012, first exploring acrylics, with a strong curiosity for oils. When I finally tried oil painting a year later, I instantly fell in love. Still, it took me some time to develop a regular practice. In 2018, I returned to art with new intention: to truly find my medium. I took various courses, tested different materials, and that’s when I discovered soft pastels.
From the first moment, pastels felt like home. Their texture, depth, and luminous quality spoke to me. Since then, they’ve become my primary medium—and while I continue to explore other techniques, around 90% of my work today is created with soft pastels.
