Rules & Participation Guidelines

Welcome to the Landscape Art Club (LAC) — a community built on curiosity, creativity, and connection. Whether you're here to improve your skills, challenge yourself weekly, or simply enjoy the process, this guide will help you participate with confidence.

Receiving the Weekly Challenge

New prompts are released every Friday on the LAC Blog, Instagram, and our Community Forum.
Each challenge includes:
- 3–4 curated photo references
- A focus point (e.g. light, texture, composition)
- A deadline (usually the following Thursday, 23:59 CET)

Creating Your Artwork

Use the reference photos and focus point as inspiration.
You can sketch, paint, or create digitally — all mediums are welcome.
Any style is encouraged — from realism to abstraction.

Submission & Tagging Rules

Post your artwork to Instagram by the deadline.
Use the weekly hashtag (found in the prompt post).
Tag @landscapeartclub so your post can be seen.

Reposting Guidelines (Instagram)

We aim to repost as many works as possible — but please follow these rules:

Quality matters: submit clear, well-lit photos.
Stay on theme: Use the provided photos, even if you have similar ones from the same spot.
Deadline: Only timely submissions are eligible for repost.
Abstract works: Include an explanation if the link to the theme is not obvious.
Private profiles: We can’t repost content from private accounts.

Late Submissions & Old Prompts

You can join any time and revisit any past challenge — just explore the Reference Library by subject and country.

Community Etiquette

Be kind, respectful, and generous with feedback.
Ask for critique only if you're open to receiving it.
Engage with other artists — the magic of LAC lies in connection.

Collaboration

You’re welcome to create a Reel about your LAC artwork and request a collaboration post with the @landscapeartclub account. To be accepted:
- The Reel must include value for the community — such as behind-the-scenes, your process, tips, or story behind the piece.
- Reels that only show the finished work without additional content are not eligible.
- Always use the weekly hashtag and submit by the deadline.
- Final decisions are made by the LAC team based on quality, clarity, and relevance.
